Who we are

Stephanie Steinshouer is a neurodivergent learner, an Educational Therapist, and the Founder/Executive Director of Lokahi Connect, a Washington-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit advancing equitable literacy and language‑based learning. She specializes in dyslexia, dysgraphia, language‑based learning differences (LBLDs), ADHD, and autism (ASD).
Stephanie’s approach to Structured Literacy Instruction integrates Structured Word Inquiry (SWI), a meaning‑first analysis of words from graphemes to morphemes, with Integrative Neurodevelopmental Theory (INT) and Mediated Learning Experience (MLE). She designs interventions that are both evidence-informed and classroom-practical, pairing precise word study with cognitive load-aware routines and metacognitive scaffolds
